Is composite fencing eco-friendly?

Yes, Composite fencing uses a mix of recycled timber and plastic, we use the equivalent weight of 80 large plastic bottles in each slat. This is plastic that could have ended up in the oceans or in landfill. Composite is also a great alternative to using wooden panels, not only does wooden fencing require harvesting and replacing frequently, but wooden fencing also requires chemical and paint treatments to extend its life and durability, these chemicals will eventually work their way into the soil.

What is the finish on your slats?

Our composite slats come in various finishes to suit different aesthetic preferences:

Classic & Ripple Fence Slats: These slats feature a wood grain finish on both sides, providing a natural and elegant look.
Hudson, Virtis & Fusion Slats: These slats have a brushed finish, giving them a contemporary and stylish appearance.

What are the posts made from?

Our composite posts are made from a premium composite using recycled wood powder and plastics. Our highly durable posts are all fully weatherproof, UV protected and require no maintenance, painting, or staining.

What are the product dimensions?

Fence Slat: 180cm (Length) x 15cm (Height) x 18mm (Thickness)
Top and Bottom Slat Capping: 180cm in Length
Fence Height Options: Available from 40cm to 220cm
Composite Fence Posts: 80mm x 80mm
Post-to-Post Distance: After installation, the slats and screens slot into post recesses up to 20mm, resulting in approximately 184cm from the centre of one post to the centre of the next.

Are longer slat lengths available?

Yes, we have longer slat lengths available. Please make contact with our product specialist to confirm the bespoke length you require.

What is included?

The slats and screens you have chosen, top and bottom slat capping, post caps, fixing kits, post base plate with covers and composite posts to your chosen length.

Can your composite posts be sunk into the ground?

Yes, our posts can be installed directly into the ground. We recommend sinking 40–130 cm posts by 40 cm, and 160–220 cm posts by 70 cm.

Do I need to order an additional post to finish the run of fencing?

You don’t need to order one separately — we’ll automatically add an additional end post to your order to complete your fencing run. This ensures your fencing is supplied with everything needed for a professional finish. Please note, the additional end post will be charged at the standard price.

What if I am installing my fencing in separate sections?

If you plan to install your fencing in separate sections, you will need to purchase additional posts separately. The standard order only covers posts for a continuous run.

Can I use the posts on corners?

Yes, our composite posts feature slots on all sides, allowing them to be used for both straight runs and corners. We also include blanking strips to cover any unused channels for a clean, finished look.

Do you supply gates to match the fencing?

Yes, we have matching Driveway and Pedestrian gates for all of our fencing collections, these are available in different heights and will be made to your requested width.

Which delivery options do you offer?

Our delivery options are as follows:

Available for all orders over £300.
For orders under £300, there will be a £30 delivery fee.
Delivery time: 3-12 working days from the date of ordering.

Charles & Ivy Premium Next Day Home Delivery:

£125 delivery fee.
Delivery time: Next Working Day for orders placed before 11am.

Is there a warranty?

We’re confident in the quality and durability of our products. That’s why we offer an industry-leading lifetime warranty.

What is the returns policy?

If you wish to return your items you must contact us within 30 days of purchase. If the Goods require collection, we will collect them from the address to which they were delivered. However, you may be charged a collection fee in the event you’re returning unwanted products that are not faulty or damaged. Your refund will be processed after the product is returned to our warehouse and thoroughly inspected. We will contact you to arrange a suitable time for collection.

Do you offer surveys?

Yes, we offer a professional site survey. A specialist can visit your property to take measurements, assess the space, and help determine exactly what’s needed for your project.

How much does it cost?

The site survey costs £250.
If your order exceeds £3000, the full £250 site survey charge will be refunded as a discount on your order.
If your order is below £3000, you’ll still benefit – 50% of the site survey charge will be refunded as a discount on your order.

Can I add to an existing fencing order previously purchased for Charles and Ivy?

Yes, we will send you installation instructions for retrofit with your order, or please find our step by step video guides on how to install here.

How bright is your lighting?

The outdoor lighting is 4000k, (Cool White).

What is the wattage?

20W per panel.

Are your products CE-certified?

Yes all products are CE certified.

How are your LED fence lights powered?

You can choose either plug-in mains power or solar-powered.

How will solar-powered lighting work?

The solar-powered lighting automatically switches on in darkness.

How long will solar power last per night?

Dependent on seasonality and placement in the garden, they will last from 5 to 10 hours.

What are the running costs if powered by mains?

7p for 10 panels per hour.

How long is the power cable?

6 meters.

Is a qualified electrician needed to fit?

No, the LUMIfence lighting is relatively simple to fit, a confident DIY'er will be able to fit it, there is no hard wiring required.

Can the Lumifence lighting be cut to suit any length.

Yes, Lumifence can be cut to any length, the length you require must be stated at the time of order. There is a £15 charge for each length cut to size.

Can lighting be used above or below screens?

Yes.

Is the wiring for the lighting visible?

No, all of the wiring is concealed inside the posts.

Can i have lighting on both sides of my fence?

Our LUMIFence comes standard with 1 strip of LED lighting however, if you would like lighting on both sides, please contact our product specialists.

Do I have to add lighting to every fence panel that I purchase?

No, please contact our product specialists to specify the exact number you require.

Is the LED lighting fully weatherproof?

Yes, all our lighting is fully weatherproof.
